Despite acknowledging the principle of human tendency towards "spirituality" as a suitable model of life, many different interpretations and prescriptions have been made by thinkers. The existence of different models that are dependent on different and sometimes conflicting intellectual foundations has naturally negated the correctness and effectiveness of all of them and has created the necessity of evaluating and choosing or rediscovering it. As the most reliable reference and source of knowledge, the religion of Islam is the provider of true knowledge and guidelines for a perfect and blissful life for humans. In this research, with the aim of identifying the true nature of spirituality and achieving the correct pattern of spiritual life, an attempt has been made to describe and explain the fundamental ontological foundations of spirituality from the perspective of Islam with the library method of information collection. The process of investigating and processing information in this issue has been followed in the framework of realism and divine worldview in Islamic thought. Islamic thought acknowledges the reality of existence and its originality in general and in a natural way, and based on this, it identifies and evaluates the relationships between objects, attitudes, behaviors and values and its influence in building the quality of life and acquiring the spiritual life of man. From the perspective of Islam, existence is not limited to nature and material beings, but there are supernatural realities that are interpreted as "unseen". Without faith in the unseen, which is the basis of the calling of the Prophets and God is a clear example of it, achieving spirituality is unreasonable and impossible. As other unseen truths such as the soul, angels, revelation and resurrection and belief in them have an undeniable place and role in the realization of human spirituality and perfection.
