Abstract

According to historical documents, Shiism entered the land of Ghor or old Gharjestan in the years 36-40 of the lunar calendar, and Al Shanseb, who were in charge of the local government of this land, were the first people with Shiite thinking. This article was compiled with the aim of investigating the background of Shiism in the mentioned land, and since its content is a mixture of historical and ideological topics, the descriptive method was used for the historical topics and the descriptive-analytical method was used for the ideological topics. According to the findings of this research, the land of old Ghor, with an area between Herat and Balkh, Ghazna and Kabul today, is the same land that had rulers named Al Shansab. During the reign of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali bin Abi Talib (a.s.), this family was kept in Balad Ghor by him. Therefore, it can be said that the first adopters of Shiism in today's Afghanistan were the residents of Ghor.
